Let’s be honest, ladies: Dressing with animal prints can be a risky (not to mention “risque”) move when overdone. A pair of zebra heels is enough pizazz that you need not go any further than that with the print. Those bold patterns are eye-catching, but there is a fine line between a beautiful and enlightened fashion statement and coming off as tacky. That said, there is a lot of fun and a little bit of sizzle to be found in selecting the right animal-inspired piece of clothing. We, obviously, recommend zebra heels.
If you couldn’t tell from our name, we’re big fans of the judicious use of zebra striped heels or pumps. The answer is simple: When paired with the right clothes, these gorgeous shoes can really add that finishing touch you’re looking for (and help show your personality). The key is pairing them with something more understated, like the little black dress, or the right jeans and top.
You never want to mix-and-match zebra patterns with cheetah pattern, or wear more than one article of animal print. Doing so constitutes a major fashion faux pas and cheapens the style, therefore we’re seriously hoping that with a little independent style judgment that you’ll avoid such an ugly fate. Remember: Just stick with the zebra print high heels and you’ll be fine. Wear them boldly, and avoid the temptation to wear them with anything else that is flashy.
There is nothing wrong with a little flash (like the heels themselves), but the line is quickly crossed when you start pairing them giraffe print purses, large hoop earrings, short denim skirts, and a cheetah skin top. That look is acceptable at only 2 places: a 1980s themed gag party and Halloween. Otherwise, you’ll want to just stick with the bold heels, and wear other normal, understated pieces of clothing.
